New Recruits

As a club we're always delighted to welcome new players and here is a bit about those joining us for the new season.

Joe Wallace joins us from Horsforth Hall Park, an exciting young wicket-keeping prospect and improving batter who's proved handy with a Sidearm ball thrower in nets! We're looking forward to seeing Joe with the gloves and hope he'll bring a real buzz to the field.

Lee Gordon returns to TPE from Keighley and brings a wealth of playing experience. Lee has been a key member of our junior coaching set-up, passing his knowledge on to our future 1st teamers, for the last couple of seasons.  Keen to return to return to regular senior cricket we hope for plenty of top-order runs from Lee, he's already fitting in well with the lads.

Pritesh Lad comes to TPE from Buttershaw St, Pauls with a reputation as a real game-changer. A dynamic batsman who is capable of putting opposition bowling attacks to the sword and a skiddy seamer with an unusual action that's already surprised a few in the nets. We're excited to see how he goes this year.

Shahid Mehmood joins us from Hallfield CC on the recommendation of Sunday league team mate Saqib Mir and following a change in his work commitments. Shahid is a talented bowler and capable batsman and we're looking foward to seeing his impact in Saturday cricket and the Aire Wharef League in 2022.

Abdullah Zubair moves from Birkby Rose Hill to join us for the 2022 campaign. Abs is an enthusiatic young all-rounder with a whippy bowling action and  the ability to hit a long ball. He's keen to learn and improve and we're looking forward to see him develop in TPE colours.

Owen Pacey takes a short step from Saltaire to join us. Aged just 17, Owen has impressed in indoor nets with his very promising seam bowling. He has good pace, bounce and hopefully more of both to come not to mention a sound batting technique. A season of real opportunity awaits for Owen and we're looking forward to seeing his progression.

Toby Wheelhouse joins us from Altofts. Having played little cricket for a couple of years, focussing on university life in Manchester, Toby is keen to get back into it and joins his younger brother Jamie, currently playing in our junior set-up. Toby reliably informs us he bowls gas so we're looking forward to seeing him steaming in when uni commitments have eased.

We hope to see Mahir Ali back in action too at some stage in 2022  folowing Covid issues in 2021. We're optimistic for the season ahead and bouyed by the introduction of some younger players full of potential.

Going the other way is Imran Patel who leaves us for pastures new at Hopton Mills. We thank him for his efforts for TPE and wish him all the best.
Adi Taylor, as most of you will know, has hung up his 1st XI cap and gloves although we still hope to see him around and, you never know, maybe in whites a few times. We thank Adi for his years of effort for our club, he's been a fantastic player for us.
So too Rick Morton who has also put his cricket spikes on ice. If Burkey follows last season's trend an SOS call to Rick should come around half way through the season.
