Bradford VCS Alliance Funding

Bradford VCS Alliance Funding

Grant towards junior cricket improvements.

The club were delighted to be approved for an Asset Based Community Development grant of £500 from the Bradford VCS Alliance intheir last round of funding.

The scheme works towards providing funds to support and activate a range of grassroots community activities and ideas which will improve the health and wellbeing of local people.

The funding helped our annual junior cricket investment. We paid for 3 more volunteers (Louis Morton, Steve Hiley & Dan Bates) to undertake the ECB Level 2 course in coaching children's cricket. We're delighted to say the guys all passed the course and have been doing a great job as part of our coaching team throughout the year.

We invested in more coaching equipment meaning our coaches and juniors have some fantastic facilities to enjoy and we purchased more cricket kit as our Under 11s embarked on their first season of competitive league cricket.

Our ethos with our junior cricket has always been to get as many children playing and enjoying the game as we can. We want to remove any potential obstacles to playing the game so there's no expensive subs, match fees or required club kit packages. We charge a minimal membership fee to cover some costs, provide all the equipment needed to play and even give everyone a club shirt to wear in games.

The junior section continues to flourish since it's re-launch in 2018 with numbers growing again this year and the investment made by the club illustrates our commitment to our junior cricket. It's great to receive the support of the Bradford VCS Alliance, it's funding like this that helps us develop at a quicker rate than we could afford to do alone.

If you'd like to be involved with our junior section you can contact us by email at or via our Head of Junior Cricket Phil Hiley on 07793022261. We're always open to new players, volunteers or sponsors.
